Meet Sadie Gasparotto
My name is Sadie Gasparotto, and I’m running for Clive City Council. My husband, Dominic, and I have lived near 156th and Hickman for nearly ten years, raising our two kids, Luca (8) and Evie (6). Like many families, we chose Clive for its excellent schools, welcoming neighborhoods, and the trails and parks that bring people together.
I grew up in Dallas Center and have seen firsthand how our region has grown and changed. That perspective, combined with more than 20 years of experience in urban planning, housing development and access, social work, and nonprofit leadership, drives my commitment to public service. I’ve worked across the Des Moines metro as a city planner, nonprofit housing advocate, and strategic grant consultant — helping communities revitalize neighborhoods, secure outside funding, expand access to housing and health, and build partnerships that deliver results.
Through that work, I learned the importance of smart investment, fiscal resilience, and community-centered leadership. On City Council, I will listen first, plan responsibly, and ensure every resident has a voice in shaping our future. Too often, local elections have offered little choice or change. I bring leadership rooted in collaboration, fairness, and responsible planning.

I’m not a career politician — I’m a mom, a neighbor, and a lifelong public servant who loves this community and cares deeply about Clive’s future. Together, we will build the future we share — keeping our city strong, connected, and ready for the next generation.
I’d be honored to earn your support and your vote. Let’s move Clive forward — together.
– Sadie
